Beautiful Noise

Winter Birds

Snowbirds rise and turn to go,

Scatter white lights among the trees,

some bare, some green,

some Christmas cones,

some emblems of the dark.

Harvest good will as the solstice comes;

Four weeks is not too long to love all things.

Scatter joy like lights upon the year's end trees–

some green, some grim and bare–

Like birds at Christmas time.
